Imagine Canada’s Olympic speed skaters. Clad in skin-tight lycra, every muscle on their sleek bodies ripples into action as they glide along the ice with a rhythm that makes it all appear so smooth, so easy. Well, no image could be farther from depicting the state of our economy, which, I argue, has entered a cancerous stage of capitalism. Why cancer?
