We Have Been Visited

For 60 years, Britain’s crop circles, though miraculous, appeared as simple shapes. Then, in 1989, things changed. In the film What on Earth?, producer Suzanne Taylor documents many of the dozens of complex geometric designs, many of them reflecting ancient sacred sites, that turn up each year. While the most complex ones seem to be in Britain, some 20 crop circles have been reported in Canada since 2005.

After chasing “croppies” for six summers, Taylor says, “If we knew for sure that a non-human intelligence was engaging with us, it would evoke a shift in our worldview. It would be a change as monumental as when Galileo proved that Earth was not the centre of the universe.”
