ALL CANDIDATES MUST MEET the University of Waterloo Work Placement Program requirements:
* must have been in school full-time and eligible for OSAP funding during the current academic term AND
* must be returning to full-time degree studies at UW in the term immediately following the work placement, AND
* must be in satisfactory academic standing in their program of study.

40 hours/week at $2400/month; Jan 3, 2012 to April 30, 2012

You will bring your skills and passion for publishing and environmental communication to assist the editorial manager. You’ll work within a small-office environment with a dedicated, diverse, fun-loving, hard-working team to create, promote and distribute Alternatives Journal both in print and online.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Assist with book review management
Fact-check articles
Research facts for longer articles
Carry out projects in consultation with staff

QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of environmental issues
Tenacity and excellent research skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail – there can be several projects in progress at any given time
Professional demeanour in all communications
