Editorial: A Scared Task
Rabbi Daniel Swartz of the Washington-based Children's Environmental Health Network speaks eloquently of his recent parenthood and his work as a sacred task. Swartz's inspiring words launched the Second Global Forum on Children's Environmental Health, a conference of 500 participants from 50 countries.
Although the conference ended prematurely on the horrific morning of September 11, it was an inspiring and hopeful event. Like the Global Forum, this issue of Alternatives gives voice to the environmental and health organizations and academics addressing the complexities and challenges surrounding the special vulnerability of children to environmental contamination. ...
