This issue marks the second annual Environmental Studies Association of Canada / Alternatives collaboration.

The two feature articles included here were chosen from papers given at the Learned Societies Congress at the Université du Québec à Montréal in June 1995 (a third article will be included in the next issue of Alternatives). They demonstrate the diverse perspectives involved in environmental studies in Canada, and the need for creative and self-critical approaches to thinking and acting environmentally. ...
