2010 Theme: "Conserving Biodiversity Pays! The Values of Ecosystem Services"
In this, the International Year of Biodiversity, the RCEN's 2010 Conference is focusing on biodiversity across Canada and our planet. Biodiversity is the term given to the variety of life on Earth and the natural patterns it forms. It is this combination of life forms and their interactions with each other and with the rest of the environment that has made Earth a uniquely habitable place for humans. Read more
Featured Event: Experiences and Effectiveness in Environmental Assessment in a Dynamic Environment
Taking place on Friday, September 17th, this roundtable will address the provincial and federal environmental assessment roles within specific case examples, such as Red Chris, Kemess North and White’s Point. The significance of the federal in a rapidly changing landscape, including how recent changes to the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act are affecting mining proposal reviews, will also be addressed.
