Rivers are so dominant in the Canadian psyche that only Canucks refer to electricity as “hydro.” Consequently, it’s fitting that as the Great White North ambles aboard the renewable energy bandwagon, water is proving to be an important source of green power. Also fitting is the role that First Nations are playing in the country’s move toward a more sustainable energy supply.
